DC Woman wins BC Community Achievement Award

first_imgForty-five outstanding British Columbians were named the recipients of the sixth annual BC Community Achievement Awards by Premier Gordon Campbell and Keith Mitchell, chair of the British Columbia Achievement Foundation.Muriel Stanley of Dawson Creek is one of the recipients.  Muriel advocates for people affected by dementia. Twenty years ago, Muriel helped establish the first Alzheimer’s Support Group in Dawson Creek, an organization which has served as a model for other communities. She is the support and education co-ordinator for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. and serves her region with unwavering passion and commitment.Muriel will join the rest of the recipients of the 2009 British Columbia Community Achievement Award Winnersat a formal presentation at Government House in Victoria on March 10, 2009.
